Women Runners of Cairo
This project was the focus of my 2014 residency at the Artellewa Art Space in Cairo. While there, I went running with local women and recorded interviews with them as we ran. After our runs, I invited them to my studio to be photographed. At my final show, I displayed their portraits along with an audio installation featuring their stories, told breathlessly against the background noise of the Cairo streets. [May's family requested that her image not be included].
